Practical Session 3 update

We are working hard on solutions to ensure learners can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity. However, on the basis of official and local advice we will be cancelling Session 3 Practical exams scheduled for  October -  December. Our Representatives will provide further guidance in due course. We are very sorry for the impact on teachers and candidates and we will continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for your loyalty and support while these restrictions remain in place.

We will be gradually rolling out remotely-assessed Performance Grades internationally starting before the end of 2020 and will share exam dates and booking periods soon.

Music Theory Exam update – session C

We are pleased to confirm that we will be offering our Music Theory exams as usual this November. These exams will all be paper-based and available for Grades 1 to 8, using the existing ‘from 2018’ Music Theory syllabus.

We’ve chosen our new woodwind repertoire to inspire learners and support teaching. There’s a wide range of exciting music for you to discover.

Find out how educator and ABRSM examiner Louise Matthew works with her pupils on a series of interactive games using the new repertoire.

Watch the first episode below to see the children’s reaction to some of the music.

Children draw and share what comes to mind as they listen to the music.

In this game, children take on the role of music editor and explore the dynamics of a flute piece “Can-Can”.
